For years I have been dreaming of solar dyes that I have seen on pinterest. I love using natural dyes, but having a pot simmering in my warm house makes me avoid dyeing in the summer months.

I really have enjoyed designing these, and will admit I have enjoyed using them too! My garden and house plants are well under way this season and I am excited to see if the watering cans can enhance my green thumb!

What better way then to wrap yourself in armor of comfort?

Natural dyes have become a huge part of my practice, and have recently begun printing with mordants to achieve a level of pattern and intricacy on fabric. It never ceases to amaze me the level of richness in colour a can achieve from extracts, garden plants and food scraps!

Quilting has been an obsession of mine for years. I find the construction fascinating and I am grateful to have something to keep my hands busy when I’m idle. Quilting has such a rich matrilineal tradition.
