Pitcher Obsession

For the last two years I have been obsessed with pitchers; the way they have so many elements that must work together, and how they are created to contain, but also to give and deliver. They keep me enraptured with their forms and I am always feeling a pull to make more pitchers.

This obsession started in a class where we focused on volumetric forms, and since I started I just can’t stop. I have been fascinated for years with the idea of a woman’s body being a container, a giver of life. Pitchers are made to contain, but also deliver; much like the biologic functions of a female body.

What as a maker do I have to offer the world? What as a woman do I offer the world? Pitchers nourish me intellectually through mystery as much as the liquids they contain.
